Twelve Circumpolar Indigenous artists will be featured in ARCTIC XR and ÁRRAN 360 ° with new 360-degree screen-based works created by leading Sámi and Canadian artists.
Enter and be engulfed by a stunning 360-degree screen with ARCTIC XR, six new immersive 360° video artworks produced and curated by Dr. Julie Nagam and Dr. Heather Igloliorte to be showcased with the ÁRRAN 360° project with seven 360° video artworks at the Sámi Pavilion for the 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in conjunction with the Sami Film Institute, before returning to Canada for Nuit Blanche Toronto. These international initiatives could not come at a more pivotal time, as it will catalyze vital exploration and dialogue about Indigenous perspectives on screen-based media, Extended Reality (XR), Augmented Reality (AR) and the future of digital storytelling.
